The E-1 Visa is specifically made for treaty traders. What does that mean? The person needs to have a business in the United States that's going to be trading or doing business with the country that belongs to a treaty. So it's very important that you find out if your country is going to qualify, or is going to have a treaty with the United States in order to qualify. So, basically you're making an investment in the United States in a business. You can be the investor or you can be the employee of that business that's going to have trade with a country that has a treaty with the United States.
