The E-2 visa is the Treaty Investor Visa. Step number one is to find out if your country is on a list of countries, that the Unites States has a treaty for in order for this type of visa. Now it is the most flexible investor visa. Why, because it doesn't have as many requirements as the L-1, or the EB-5. But in theory, it doesn't lead you to permanent residence as the L-1 does, or as the EB-5 visa does. So it's very important that you talk to your attorney, and strategize as to which visa is best for you either the E-2, the L-1, or the EB-5 depending on what your endgame is with immigration.
